All three ACS initiatives were represented, Oasis Tutoring represents the RSVP program; LifeWise STL represents the Senior Companion program; and Cardinal Ritter Senior Services represents the Foster Grandparent program. The three organizations collaborated to recognize our ACS volunteers in St. Louis, increase their visibility within the St. Louis community and draw attention/support for these programs from local representatives. Mayor Tishaura Jones issued a Mayoral Proclamation to recognize our volunteers’ dedication to the betterment of their communities and to declare May 8th as AmeriCorps Seniors Day in St. Louis. We were joined by a guest speaker from United Way to highlight the impact of volunteering, both for the volunteer and for their community.
